SIMAVI brings over two decades of proven excellence in designing and delivering advanced software systems that transform customs processes across Europe, including Import Control System 2 (ICS2) and Risk Management. With a strong foundation in complex system integration, interoperability, and large-scale deployments, SIMAVI has successfully collaborated with a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders—including public authorities, ports and airports, healthcare institutions, Industry 4.0 actors, energy operators, law enforcement agencies, and research organizations. Having participated in more than 45 Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects, SIMAVI combines cutting-edge technological innovation with deep domain expertise.
What is your specific role in the project and what is the single most exciting outcome you hope to achieve with the results of CustomAI?
SIMAVI plays a central role in the project as the leader of two critical Work Packages:
- Design & Development of AI-Based Decision Support Tools for Customs
- Tools Testing and Evaluation, Use Case Demonstrations, and End-User Training
In addition, SIMAVI leads key technical tasks, including:
- Toolkit framework development and tools integration
- AI-supported Virtual Customs Control Office
The most exciting outcome: The delivery of a fully operational, AI-driven software ecosystem that significantly enhances customs efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness—empowering authorities with advanced decision-support capabilities when risk is involved, and paving the way for smarter, more resilient border management.
