As Luxembourg’s leading IT service and technology provider, we specialise in designing scalable, adaptable, and highly secure digital infrastructures that bridge the gap between innovation and real-world implementation.
Our unique contribution lies in our mastery of the IoT-cloud-edge continuum optimised for security – a revolutionary architectural approach that enables CustomAI to extract data from external clouds while preserving internal IoT data integrity. This expertise is critical for customs operations where data security, real-time processing, and seamless interoperability across heterogeneous systems are non-negotiable.
We bring proven capabilities in blockchain integration, AI-enhanced decision support systems, and comprehensive toolkit development that can adapt to any customs use case (e.g. seaport container inspection, courier parcels, and cultural goods protection) regardless of domain, goods type, or threat category.
What is your specific role in the project (which work packages/tasks are you leading/contributing to), and what is the single most exciting outcome you hope to achieve with the technology/results developed in CustomAI?
Netcompany SA serves as the Scientific and Technical Coordinator of CustomAI project, leading and supervising the proper implementation of the critical technical backbone of the project. Netcompany is also leading the Work Packages focusing on the Use Case Requirements and Toolkit Framework Design, and the Toolkit Framework Development and Tools Integration, which form the architectural foundation upon which all CustomAI innovations are built. In addition, we will design and implement an AI-enhanced blockchain solution for secure, tamper-proof cargo tracking with real-time data collection and IoT sensor integration.
With the second largest effort contribution in the consortium, we are deeply invested across the project lifecycle and contributing to all the technical work packages. The single most exciting outcome we hope to achieve is revolutionizing customs operations through a unified, AI-powered ecosystem that reduces false positives by up to 20%, dramatically enhances threat detection accuracy, and paves the way for fully automated customs control checkpoints. By creating an architecture that is truly adaptable across all customs scenarios, we aim to establish a new European standard for intelligent border management that balances security with trade facilitation, enabling customs authorities to do more with existing resources while enhancing safety for all European citizens.
What is the core team involved in the project?

The core team working on CustomAI from our side is composed by Georgios Bardas (Senior AI Engineer and CustomAI S&T Coordinator), Athina Pnevmatikaki (Software and AI Engineer) and Flavien Massi (RID Project Manager).
