Real-world use cases

CustomAI is pioneering non-intrusive, AI-enhanced solutions designed to strengthen and modernize customs operations. By focusing on risk-based prediction and detection, we will transform how goods move through European borders. CustomAI technologies will be validated through three dynamic use cases, ranging from bustling seaports to specialized laboratory environments.

Seaport Container Intelligence

Objective: Streamlining the selection process for high-volume container inspections.

In the fast-paced environment of international shipping, manual selection is a bottleneck. CustomAI is developing predictive models to identify high-risk containers without disrupting the flow of trade.

Primary Pilot Site: Port of Valencia, Spain

Integration Partners: Port of Constanta (Romania) and Port of Aarhus (Denmark)

Expected Impact: Ensures that the requirements of diverse European maritime hubs are integrated into a single, scalable AI framework.

Objective: High-speed risk detection for air-freight parcels.

The rapid growth of e-commerce requires a smarter approach to courier inspections. This use case focuses on the airport logistics environment to flag suspicious parcels in real-time.

Primary Pilot Site: Copenhagen Airport (CPH), Denmark

Expected Impact: Enhances security in postal hubs by focusing human inspection efforts on the highest-probability risks.

Postal & Courier Services

Protection of Cultural Goods

Objective: Automated recognition of illegally exported heritage and artifacts.

Cultural heritage is a non-renewable resource. Unlike standard cargo, cultural goods require highly specialized recognition capabilities to prevent illicit trafficking.

Primary Pilot Site: Advanced Laboratory

Expected Impact: A proof-of-concept for a sophisticated detection system that can eventually be deployed to borders.

CustomAI solutions will undergo rigorous testing and real-world evaluation. Our goal is not just a “lab win,” but a transformative step toward secure, efficient customs processes that can be seamlessly scaled across Europe and beyond.

Note: We are currently in the planning phase. More details about each use case will be available soon.
