As the volume of international trade and travel grows, the technical challenge for customs authorities is clear: identifying illicit goods within massive streams of baggage and freight without stalling their flow.

This webinar will bring together three European projects to share their specialized findings on how advanced technologies such as vapor sensing and AI-based x-ray analysis can enhance the detection of illicit goods while streamlining the customs inspection process.

This session will provide a comprehensive look at how different advanced technologies are being developed to detect contraband across different scenarios:

Vapor-Based Baggage Screening (SAUST): Discover non-intrusive vapor screening technology designed for the rapid, automated detection of drugs, tobacco, and explosives in baggage.
AI-Driven Decision Support System (BAG-INTEL): Explore how AI is leveraged to help customs officers at inland airports select incoming baggage for inspections, increasing the efficiency of contraband detection.
Multi-Modal Cargo & Parcel Intelligence (CustomAI): Gain insights into an AI toolkit designed to reduce false positives in high-volume environments, with real-world validation cases covering maritime containers, postal parcels, and the detection of illegally exported cultural goods.
